My Learning Conference

Learning Conference

My term 3 learning conference was way better than my term 1 learning conference, in some ways.

  1. I finished my slideshow
  2. I was able to explain my learning journey more easily
  3. I had made better progress
  4. I had finished most of my work.
As you can see it was way better than my last learning conference. I was a nervous wreck!

Masterchef

My dad's driving me to school. I feel like I'm forgetting something, wait, carrots! It's Wednesday, master chef we gotta turn back for 'em...No Megan, no Thomas, no bread, no lettuce, no tomatoes what are we gonna do - we were gonna make (healthy) hamburgers but how can we without bread (for the buns)-well we can't make hamburgers, what else? It's time to start, we've decided to make a salad instead, including some almonds, peanuts, and raisins from my lunch the other ingredients are carrots, capsicum, cheese, and ham with lemon juice drizzled on top. We didn't win the competition, but the salad was delicious, it was fun!!!

My Learning Conference

My learning conference  was different to the others for various reasons. I had finished off the wrong slide-show so that wasn't so great. But it was fun just not in the way I'd hoped for.

Whaitawheta Hut

On Thursday 28 of April Dad, Rachel and I hiked up to Waitawheta hut and stayed the night. There were several different sights on the the way there and back including an amazing waterfall,20 bridges, a kauri log bogie and a big hollow kauri stump

The walk there was long but fascinating and muddy. I got like 3 hours of sleep altogether. It was a really fun trip.

Waiata Assembly Performance

On Friday 1st of April Kahikitea Team performed a waiata we learned at our Noho to the school at assembly. 2 years ago when I was a year 3, I joined the kapahaka group and we learnt the whole thing but for the year 5&6's we only did half of it. It was really exciting performing to over 300 people.

Pirongia School Fair

Nobody noticed when I turned up at the room 9 stall late for my time slot, well until I said hi to Ella.J. It took a while before anyone bought any treats from the side of the stall I was selling treats from, but at the end of the fair we had raised at least $1000!

All money raised at the fair goes forward to the new sports shed for the school.

Triathalon

It's triathlon day and I'm ready to race.I don't know why but I loved it: First we ran around the school block 1 time. Then we had to bike around the rugby field 2 times. Finally we had to swim 5 laps of the pool and then  we ran between the flags up to Debbie and say our house. There was a tent giving out free juice and water for the students who raced . It was fun!!!

Marae Noho

The Kahikitea team Marae Noho was really awesome it was fun learning heaps of cultural things. I learnt how to carve and weave putiputi out of harekeke flax. There are 2 types of flowers that I learnt how to make out of hareke.

we also learnt a waiata and stick games it was cool as. Then, a few weeks after, we performed it to the school at assembly. The reason of the trip was for us to know each other better.
